Poignant, touching and beautiful. A one sit read for me with lovely, enchanting characters, unique and fabulous story and a flowing prose. I loved it and would recommend it to everyone.
What inspired you to write this book?
I get a lot of my ideas while driving in the car, listening to music. Looking Back on Forever was inspired by The Killers’ “Miss Atomic Bomb.” I love the band, and many of their songs helped form and inspire this song: all the heartbreak, wanting to run away from problems, always remembering what was and what could have been. So many of their songs fit this book. My playlist for the book is really the story in itself. If you listen to it, you have the book.
Do you have any “side stories” about the characters?
Some characters from Looking Back on Forever will be seen again. I really, really want to write Cyn’s story. She goes through the most, I think, yet her story isn’t developed too much in Looking Back because, as I was writing it, I was already outlining her own book.
Half the people who read Looking Back are begging for Kyle’s book. I felt his story was developed well for a secondary character. You see how he starts and how his story ends, but he had a really big character arc, and I would love to write that out fully. He went from a fun-loving jokester to a serious, no-nonsense guy, and I think his story needs some delving into. I really want to venture into his psyche.
Literature is my passion. I like to challenge myself and grow in my writings. I have many unfinished books and some that have been published under a different name. Why I chose to do this is because of my writing growth and the differentiation in genre. I don't want my future books to be judged by the inexperience of my past writings. Though I love those books, they came out of nowhere and it's apparent in the writings they were a first draft from someone with no experience.
My passions include the arts--music, photography, writing, dance, painting, films, architecture, anything that is creation. There is not much I don't like; and if I don't like it, I at least appreciate the process that took place to create it. This is something incorporated in all my books. I've known so many talented people, and truly believe no one is without a talent. Everyone has something ingrained in them; just naturally gives them the ability to create new life in the form of art.
In my spare time, which is basically non-existent between my day job and writing, I enjoy being out in nature, travelling, spending time with family, and reading. I read everything, from contemporary to paranormal, from historical romance to erotica, from history to science. Learning is something very important to me. I really do learn something new everyday, my brain storing so much useless to life-saving information. My brain, the sponge.
